This week’s homework:

Monday: Spelling-

Wednesday:                  

Thursday: Spelling- review              

Friday: Reading logs due

     Remember to log your reading every night and bring in your log on Friday!

You should be reading at least 15 minutes a night.  Remember the 5 finger rule: If there are 5 words on a page that you do not know, this book is too hard for you.  Try to pick a book that is not too hard, not too easy, but JUST RIGHT for you.  Enjoy!

Homework policy:

Homework is usually assigned Monday through Thursday nights.

Homework is expected to be completed each night (as stated in the expectations).

All assignments are counted towards the homework grade.


What if I forget my homework?

If homework is forgotten, it can be brought in the next day (it will count as a late assignment). If

the homework is not brought in the next day it will be completed during recess. In order to make Homework Club 1

assignment can be missing or 2 assignments can be late.

What is homework Club and how do I become a member?

Homework Club is an elite Club that all can become members of. All that needs to be done is every

homework assignment FOR THE MONTH must be completed. Because I am a bit of a softy, I allow 1

missing assignment OR 2 late. If the homework assignments are completed, an invitation is extended to come have

breakfast with the teacher! We start over each month so you always have a new chance to make the Club.


What is a Homework Pass and how do I use it?

 A homework pass is one of the prizes that you can win by earning 10 blue strips. It allows you to take one night off from

homework. YOU MUST HAND IN THE HOMEWORK PASS IN PLACE OF THAT NIGHTS HOMEWORK (so

keep those passes in a safe place).

 I suggest holding on to the passes for special circumstances (a night that youare not feeling well, have football practice or a birthday party, etc.).
